Delaware County Patio Awning

This Delaware County Patio Awning was a perfect fit for a customer of ours in Brookhaven, PA. These pictures were taken in the morning, and as you can see, their home provides great natural shade. During the afternoon, that is not the case. The back of their house faces almost directly west, and their patio becomes unusable in the summer months. This Delaware County Patio Awning completely solved any of the problems these homeowners had regarding their patio. As you can see in the pictures, they didn’t even have furniture for their patio it was so unbearable. What a waste. This Delaware County Patio Awning was a siding wall mount installation. Let’s go through the steps that made this happen, so it’s clear for anyone who wants to know how their Delaware County Patio Awning would be installed.

The first step in this particular installation of this Delaware County Patio Awning would be to remove the siding. Not the whole wall of course, but enough to fit a 2×8 ledger board. We cut back the siding, and then with 8 inch lag bolts, fasten the ledger board to the studs of the home. This creates a very steady structure. Your Delaware County Patio Awning becomes a part of the home. This is not an internet throw away awning. This is an Aristocrat Awning. It was built to last. Correct installation is just as important.

The next step to proper installation would be to attach the mounting brackets to the ledger board. These mounting brackets come with the awning, and are attached to the 40mm gauge steel bar on this Delaware County Patio Awning known as the “back” or “frame” it’s a very important piece, and essentially holds the awning together.

The final step in properly installing a Delaware County Patio Awning would be to fully cap the ledger board with smooth aluminum coil. Without this step, not only will you have an exposed board, but water will get behind the awning and into your home.

The finishing steps are all purely cosmetic, making sure the positioning is correct, adjusting the pitch of the awning, and cleaning up and around the installation area.
