Our Story
In the spring of 1953, Walt Subers Sr. and two of his sons Walt Jr. and Ray saw a need in Delaware County, Pennsylvania for quality home improvement and remodeling services for residential and commercial customers. They researched the market, interviewed potential customers and suppliers and decided to launch S&S Home Improvement Company later that summer.
In 1953, a gallon of gas cost .11 per gallon, you could buy a new Ford Motor Car for under $2000, and the average American income was $4,011 per year. The phrase, “You’ve come a long way baby!” never has had so much meaning!
To this day, S&S (Subers and Sons) is still a family company owned and operated by Ray Subers. Ray’s son Gary and nephew Ted work diligently in the company continuing our family tradition. 1987Passing the Torch
After Walter Sr. retired, his 2 boys (Ray and Walt Jr.) expanded the business beyond aluminum siding and windows to include whole house restoration built on the same promises and good name Walter Sr. created.
2014Recognition
It’s always nice to be recognized for your accomplishments. It’s especially nice when it involves the efforts of your family all the way back to your Grandfather, Father and Uncles. At S&S we are proud of our long tradition and look forward to serving the community for years to come.
